Separate Schedules During Deliverable Revisions
Separate Schedules During Deliverable Revisions
In this latest update, we’ve introduced several enhancements to improve the management and tracking of tasks and documents within Wrench SmartProject. These changes focus on refining how dates are recorded and maintained when documents are linked to tasks and revised. By integrating new settings and automating date updates, these features ensure greater accuracy and flexibility in managing project schedules and deliverables.
Key Features:
- Document-Task Linkage:
- When a document is linked to a task, the actual start date is recorded in the linked task.
- Upon approval and release of the document, the task is marked as complete, and the progress and actual finish date are automatically recorded.
- Dates are updated in the linked schedules.
- Revised Document Handling:
- A specific setting to restrict the clearing of actual dates for scheduled tasks is included.
- New setting: “Delink schedules on revising deliverables,” available in the Project setting window.
Benefits:
1. Automated Date Tracking:
- Automatically records and updates start, progress, and finish dates, ensuring accurate tracking of task progress.
2. Improved Schedule Integrity:
- Prevents unintended schedule adjustments by retaining actual dates even when documents are revised.
- Allows for better management of project timelines and deliverables by maintaining consistency in schedules.
- Customizable Settings:
- Provides flexibility with the new setting to separate schedules from deliverables, which can be enabled or disabled according to project needs.
